Heinz Beauvaix is Danish synthesists Niels Rønne (who also plays in Of The Wand & The Moon) and Flemming Kaspersen (who also makes instrumental synthpop as Delayscape).
The project dates back to the mid-1990’s when both played in Danish ambient act Swimwear Catalogue. Over the years, on an ever growing number of DAT tapes, they recorded semi-improvised synth/sampler/sequencer jams that mixed influences from ambient, electro and industrial.
After three self-released albums – “Archive 1-3” (available on Bandcamp) – that collect early recordings, Heinz Beauvaix now release their proper debut album on Cold Beats Records with “Anticlimate”. They previously contributed the track “Dull House” to the Cold Beats Records compilation “Scraping Beats”.
“Anticlimate” mixes melancholy synth pads, discrete drum rhythms, half-buried voice samples and assorted sound design weirdness. Some tracks were recorded live in the studio, others have been meticulously sequenced and arranged. The mood goes from ambient calm to synth pop to semi-industrial stompers.
Everything was made on digital hardware synths: Heinz Beauvaix are not analogue purists!
“Anticlimate” was mastered by German synth wizard Stefan Bornhorst a.k.a. The Silicon Scientist.
